On Christmas Eve our 6:00 p.m. service will reach out to some of the younger children of God, while the 10:30 p.m. service will have more of a ‘grown-up’ feel. Both services will include candlelight and communion. On Christmas morning we will have one service of worship at 9:30 a.m. to celebrate the birth of the Christ-child. Please join us!

Ok…to be specific, it’d be Holy Heifer! To drive home the point of our mission project with Heifer International, Belle the Heifer made an appearance during announcements on Sunday. She is truly a beautiful animal…and very well behaved! Thanks to the Clowsers for bringing her, and to the Seward County Independent for the pictures!

The children in this photograph live in an orphanage in Jalingo, Nigeria in Africa. Did you know that our congregation along with all of the NE Conference UMC congregations have been providing the primary source of funding for this orphanage?

The orphanage is the result of a partnership between the NE Conference and a United Methodist Conference in Nigeria. Back in 1999 the Council of Bishops decided to try and do something to improve the lives of the children of the poor in Africa. In 2005 the doors of the orphanage were opened to 28 children. In 2007, 20 more children were invited to grow and study there. In 2012, they expect to double their numbers… that would be 96 children who are loved and care for — and this week we learned that a college education is also a part of the package!
