The idea for Bright Beginnings Child Development Center, BBCDC, started in 2008 as a ministry/outreach program of the Seward United Methodist Church.
Initially, it was established as a daycare for infants but over the next 5 years, our program has expanded to provide nurturing care for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. Families are the most important part of a child’s life, and as such, the BBCDC staff strives daily toward excellence in partnership with families. We truly believe in our mission:
Provide a loving, caring Christian environment that fosters individual and educational growth for each stage of a child’s development
We are so proud of all the youngsters who have been growing and learning with us over the years.

Our Philosophy
Every child has a right to quality care. Our quality of care shows in the way your child grows.
Our Program
Bright Beginnings Child Development Center is a ministry of Seward United Methodist Church which provides a quality, child centered, and developmentally appropriate environment for babies through school-age (~12 years old ) children, in a Christian focused setting.
We make use of the Creative Curriculum, which is endorsed by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). This curriculum focuses on children’s interests through longer studies using hands on areas of interest. All ages learn best through play and a good amount of time outside. Our classes are outside daily, enjoy music, share in God and Me time, participate in yoga, and enjoy special activities for all ages.
Our outside area is currently expanding with a new nature space to engage children in art, music, science, math, and dramatic play. This area is in memory of Jim and Jane Gardner, with gifts from their family and also an anonymous donor family.
We have teachers in all classrooms who genuinely love children and actively create an environment which stimulates both learning and creativity through play.
BBCDC offers an educational experience for all our students. We strive to develop the children in our care at every stage of their lives. All of our students are exposed to a variety of different learning activities which involve large motor, small motor, sensory, hands on, cognitive, technology and student-centered learning approach. Hands on learning is stressed in all our classrooms as well as community involvement.
